2018-2019 Special Project:

"YEAR OF REHABILITATION"

This year’s Special Project is the Year of Rehabilitation for our Shriner Children.  Personally knowing some Shriner Children, I have gained an appreciation of the importance of helping a child go beyond the surgeries, to develop physically and mentally to their full potential.

The twenty-two Shriners' Hospitals offer special rehabilitation programs for the children in their care including, but are not limited to, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language therapy, psychiatric therapy to help a child manage pain, post-traumatic stress and depression and recreational therapy which includes art, aquatic, pet and horticulture approaches. The goal of our project is to provide support of rehabilitation programs across the Shriners' Hospitals System.  Your donations to this Special Project will be divided equally among the Shriners' Hospitals in the United States, thereby supporting the Rehabilitation Programs where ever children in your area receive care.

Shriners’ Hospital for Children, Canadian Unit, Montreal will benefit in the Year of Rehabilitation.  Because of Canadian Charities Rules the money donated by our Canadian court is required to stay in Canada, so I am working with the Hospital to determine a project that would benefit their Rehabilitation Program this year.
